Emmerdale fans will be in for a shock when they turn over to ITV1 tonight only to find that their beloved soap isn’t on.
Despite normally airing at 7.30pm on Mondays, Emmerdale isn’t on at all tonight.
Instead, a football match between Burnley and Sheffield United will be broadcast, with coverage starting from 5pm ahead of the 5.30pm kick-off.
When is Emmerdale airing this week?
Fortunately, Emmerdale fans won’t be missing out, as an hour-long instalment of the ITV soap will air on ITV1 tomorrow at 7pm.
Emmerdale’s schedules return to normal from Wednesday, with the Yorkshire-based soap airing at 7.30pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with an hour-long instalment on Thursday.
There are dramatic scenes ahead in the Dales this week as Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) meets up with brother John Sugden’s (Oliver Farnworth) army friend and makes a shocking discovery.
Elsewhere, Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) makes a big mistake when he confronts the wrong man over Dawn Taylor’s (Olivia Bromley) affair, and there’s concern when Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) is attacked.

More big Emmerdale schedule changes ahead
Both Emmerdale and Coronation Street are set to face huge schedule changes from 2026, as ITV cut back on the number of episodes being aired.
The ITV soaps will both air 30 minute episodes on weekday nights, with Emmerdale set to air at 8pm, followed by Corrie at 8.30pm.
Bosses have revealed that the changes come as a result of research into audience viewing habits.
