Gabby Thomas was left reeling on Emmerdale after Dawn Fletcher questioned her relationship with Vinny Dingle.
Gabby and Vinny finally got together properly last year after months of tantalising tension, though they soon found themselves worn out by the former’s living arrangements at Home Farm.
As they plotted a new life with the Dingles at Dale View, Dawn has had her own troubles regarding her own love life, with the character cheating on husband Billy as she embarked on an affair with Joe Tate.
Despite initially only viewing the affair as a bit of fun, Joe and Dawn eventually developed feelings for each other, though Dawn opted to stay with Billy – who still remains unaware of her infidelity – as she didn’t wholly trust Joe.
Tuesday’s (15 April) saw the two storylines converge as Dawn reaffirmed her commitment to Billy in a conversation with Joe, though he was still adamant that the pair could make things work if she decided to pursue her “true” feelings.
As Dawn reflected upon her quandary, Gabby arrived at Home Farm to collect her last belongings ahead of her move to Dale View. Dawn, fresh from her own indecision, accused Gabby of taking the “safe” option, saying she was “settling” for Vinny.
Dawn continued by referencing some of the fierier characters that Gabby had been romantically involved with in the past, remarking that Vinny wasn’t like any of them – is Vinny right for Gabby? Or will Dawn’s words have an effect on Gabby and her romance?
Whilst Gabby was moving into Dale View, Rosie Bentham – who has played the character since 2016 – previously spoke about Gabby and Vinny’s burgeoning relationship last year, sharing her wishes for the couple.

“It’s a bit of a chalk and cheese situation, isn’t it?” said Bentham. “She’s at an age now where she’s focused on business. Now all she needs is a good guy who will come in, help her and Thomas, and maybe bring her back down to some of her nicer roots.
“I think Gabby needs Vinny. Vinny would be good for Gabby, but it’d come down to whether she’s willing to change herself. She’s probably a bit too feisty for Vinny at the minute. She’d need to chill out for that.”
