Two Coronation Street characters gave into the chemistry building between them in recent scenes as they slept together after a terrifying incident.

Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) was left shaken when she was mugged in tonight’s episode, with a thief snatching her phone from her hand.

Fortunately, DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) just happened to be walking past, and a brief flash of his badge was enough to encourage the thief to drop Sarah’s phone.

Sarah was relieved to have her phone back, albeit not quite in one piece, but she refused to show too much gratitude to Kit.

With the pair having already hit it off over drinks the night before, Kit bought Sarah a coffee at Roy’s Rolls, where their flirtatious banter continued.

Clearly enjoying each other’s company, Sarah and Kit agreed to spend the day together, and they soon ended up back at Sarah’s flat – or, more specifically, in Sarah’s bed.

In the true spirit of their relationship, they continued to tease each other, with Sarah insisting that she’d had plenty of male visitors and that Kit shouldn’t think he was special.

As they were about to go for round two, their peace was shattered by the unannounced arrival of Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) and Theo Silverton (James Cartwright), who were looking for somewhere quiet to talk.

After scolding Todd for misusing his key to her flat, Sarah realised that he clearly needed to have an important conversation with his new beau.

Given that Kit lives next door to Sarah, it didn’t take the new couple long to agree to go back to his, leaving Todd and Theo to talk.

Could this be the start of something more serious for Sarah and Kit?

We hope it will be more successful than Todd and Theo’s relationship, which came to a disappointing end in tonight’s episode.

Finding out that Theo also had kids was the final straw for Todd, who didn’t want to have to navigate keeping their relationship a secret for the sake of Theo’s oblivious family.
