Emmerdale‘s Joe Tate has sworn to find out what Caleb Miligan is hiding in a risky plan that is sure to backfire.
Back in January, villain Anthony Fox was murdered as part of a whodunnit storyline. It was eventually revealed that his daughter Ruby Fox-Miligan was the killer.
In tonight’s episode, Joe returned to the village where he became suspicious of Caleb, Steph Miligan and Ruby, who are all part of Anthony’s death cover-up.
Kicking things off, Steph persuaded everyone to dig up Anthony’s body after becoming convinced he was still alive.
After finding the grave was empty, the group began to act suspiciously, catching the eye of Joe, who questioned what they were all hiding.

“Everything okay?” Joe said after coming across Steph and Caleb in the woods. Steph lied and said they were looking for a missing bracelet, telling Joe to “back off”.
In a private chat with Noah Dingle, Joe said that he was going to make it his mission to find out what Caleb was up to.
“I think I should get to know Uncle Caleb, get some dirt on him,” Joe said. “It’s always good to stay one step ahead with people like that. Just in case.”
Looking ahead, we know this plan will backfire on Joe as Caleb star Will Ash recently revealed that Joe’s detective work goes wrong and Caleb will become suspicious of Joe’s own secret.

Viewers will know that Joe, who is seriously ill with chronic kidney disease, secretly stole Caleb’s kidney without his permission along with the help of Dr Crowley.
Speaking recently about the plan, Will said that alarm bells will be set off and Caleb, who thinks he lost his kidney following complications after he was stabbed, will start to do some digging of his own.
“It’s all a bit weird and it’s setting off alarm bells for Caleb,” Will said. “I think Joe might have got away with it, but he starts digging around Steph and Ruby’s secrets and that sets the ball rolling for everything else to unravel. He should have kept himself to himself!”
