Evelyn Plummer returns, and she‘s on a mission. She‘s determined to rescue her daughter, Cassie, from the edge after the explosive scandal left her totally alone. Cassie is one of Weatherfield’s most hated characters now after being caught secretly lacing Ken Barlow’s drinks with antihistamines.

Cassie’s dishonesty didn’t end there. Ken also found out that she had been living off his credit card to finance her own spending sprees. When the truth finally came out, Cassie was evicted from No.1, with Ken showing her the door and making it very clear that she was no longer welcome.

Cassie’s son Tyrone also ditched her, unwilling to be associated with a woman who so easily betrayed friends. Homeless and friendless, Cassie has been forced to look out for herself. But Evelyn, who has been away at uni getting a law degree, isn’t ready to write her off yet. She returns home to Weatherfield with a determined plan to make things right between them—but will Tyrone and Fiz listen and be willing to let Cassie in again?
