Emmerdale has aired another big shock for Sarah Sugden as her relationship with Jacob Gallagher reached breaking point.

Recent episodes saw Sarah taking a pregnancy test after suspecting she was carrying Jacob’s baby. She attempted to tell Jacob about the positive result but he was still grieving for his mum Leyla Harding, who died during the horrific limo crash.

Jacob’s hostility left Sarah feeling overwhelmed as she tried to come to terms with her life-changing news.

In tonight’s episode, Charity Dingle noticed something was on Sarah’s mind. She pressed her granddaughter to tell her what was wrong and was shocked to hear that Sarah was pregnant.

“Woah, what? As in definite or you just think you might be?” Charity asked.

“No, for definite. I’ve done a test,” Sarah confirmed, assuring her she had considered the health risks related to her medical history.

Sarah then received a text from Jacob asking to meet her, but before she could tell him the news, he revealed that he wanted them to break up.

“Look, you have been through a massive trauma. Of course you’re gonna feel different but it doesn’t mean you just chuck it all away,” Sarah pleaded.

“You don’t understand. I can’t do it to myself, not again,” explained Jacob. “The people I love, they just go. Everyone I care about leaves me.”

Sarah tried her best to convince him to reconsider, but Jacob was set in his decision and left before she could tell him about the baby.

Later, devastated Sarah explained what had happened. Charity promised that the whole family would support her if she chose to continue the pregnancy, but Sarah was still heartbroken about Jacob.

“Why doesn’t he want me?” Sarah cried, as Charity consoled her. Will Jacob change his mind about the break-up?
