Emmerdale‘s Kim Tate has warned Dawn Taylor to end her affair with Joe Tate.

Kim learned of the two’s secret affair last week, after her cleaner Lydia Dingle followed the pair and saw them together kissing. Lydia informed Kim, who confronted Joe and told him to end it before Dawn’s husband finds out.

In tonight’s episode, Joe told Dawn that Kim knew of their romance, with the two women later having a heart-to-heart about the affair.

Dawn found Joe in the living room, and excited to have the house to themselves, they started making out. But Dawn’s husband Billy arrived back home, nearly catching them in the act.

Joe slipped out and told Billy that he had a lady over, concealing her identity, with Billy agreeing to leave again to give Joe his space.

Joe then returned to the room to pick things back up again, but a rattled Dawn told Joe that they might have to end their affair.

It’s then that Joe revealed that Kim knew of their affair, and that she was the reason he was going away for a few weeks to Dubai.

“If I don’t break things off with you, I have to leave but maybe that’s what you want now,” he told Dawn, who seemed torn.

Later, she found Kim alone in the kitchen and asked her how long she had known about the affair.

Kim admitted concern for Dawn, claiming Joe was playing with her, but Dawn confessed: “He’s not the villain, I made the first move.”

Dawn then told Kim that Billy almost caught them earlier, with Kim pleading for Dawn to end it. “I know I shouldn’t but I don’t think I can,” Dawn responded.

Kim questioned if Dawn had feelings for Joe, but Dawn is adamant she doesn’t. She tried to justify the affair, claiming that she’s had a lot on with Evan’s leukemia diagnosis and the recent loss of her dad, but Kim clapped back that Dawn was making excuses.

“I can’t tell you how to live your life, but you’ve got to ask yourself, is it worth it?” Kim asked Dawn. “Is this feeling worth losing your marriage over?”

The episode ended with Dawn cooking dinner in the kitchen, when Billy entered, giving his wife a kiss and hug.

Joe then walked in with Billy telling Dawn about him catching Joe with a mystery woman earlier. Billy began quizzing Joe for details of her identity but Joe quipped back: “A gentleman doesn’t kiss and tell.”

Dawn is relieved but how much longer can the affair be kept hidden?
