Bold & Beautiful has brought the past crashing into the present for Poppy, whose long-ago tryst with nephew Finn resulted in the birth of future killer Luna. And to think, Romy Park owes it all to what she remembers as an especially “emotional scene” that she played while chemistry-testing with Lisa Yamada.

During a recent visit to The Locher Room with on-screen sister Naomi Matsuda (Li), Park recalled that by the end of her reading with Yamada in front of the soap’s powers that be, “I was bawling, because Lisa and connected. Casey [Kasprzyk, the show’s supervising producer] had to go and grab me tissues ’cause my nose was running.” luna-poppy-bb

“Oh, and they love that,” Matsuda chimed in.

Ater Park’s audition, she thought, “I don’t feel like intimidated. I can just be myself” with this group. They were as enamored of her as she was of them. “I got hired the same day. My agent said, ‘That was quick.’ I was actually dumbfounded, because when you’re used to hearing no,” a yes can be a wonderful surprise. “I forgot everything. I couldn’t remember my own name at that point.”

On screen, Poppy might long for a case of amnesia, too. As word spreads about her scandalous hookup with Finn, she’s going to be spending a lot of time in the hot seat. But “I love Poppy’s fallibility,” Park says. “I love that she is so imperfect. She tries, yet she can get so much wrong.” Her saving grace may well be that “she never does anything with ill intent. It just comes from misplaced” sense.

Misplaced or perhaps altogether absent.
