Moira Dingle’s (Natalie J Robb) whole world fell apart in a recent episode of Emmerdale, as Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) finally told her that he slept with Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly).

Last year, when Moira was in surgery to have her brain tumour removed, Cain slept with Ruby. Both characters were dealing with their own problems at the time – Cain was struggling with Moira’s diagnosis and the operation, while Ruby was unable to process the arrival of her father Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day).

Ruby and Cain concluded that they’d keep their one night stand a secret for the sake of their families. However, when Anthony picked up on their strange dynamic, it wasn’t long until he learnt what had happened.

Anthony told Caleb (William Ash) about Ruby and Cain days before he was killed.

Caleb didn’t believe Anthony because he said it when a gun was being pointed at him, but he then realised – to his horror – that the evil man was telling the truth when he learnt the morning after pill he had found in the bin did not belong to his daughter Steph (Georgia Jay).

A showdown between the two brothers took place in a limo in front of a group of male residents. After they crashed, Caleb took his anger out on Cain and brutally attacked him, very nearly committing murder.

In upcoming episodes, the aftermath of Cain’s confession to Moira unfolds as she asks him to move out.

With their marriage officially coming to a close, Cain and Moira are both quietly devastated.

There’s a glimmer of happiness for Moira later in the week though, as she attends a hospital appointment and is told she’s got the all-clear.

Sadly, celebrating her good news with the family more than likely won’t happen, as Cain and Moira are then tasked with telling Isaac and Kyle they are no longer a couple.

Is this really the end of the road?
