More heartbreak is on the cards for Emmerdale fans, as beloved couple Cain and Moira will have a shocking split in scenes set to air next week.

Cain confessed to Moira last week that he’d cheated with his sister-in-law Ruby after her husband Caleb found out the truth about their misdeeds. As if that wasn’t bad enough, Cain had to face up to the fact he and Ruby got intimate on the same day Moira went under the knife to have her brain tumour removed.

Next week, Cain will be left devastated when his wife demands he moves out of their home following his betrayal, as she makes it very clear she’s done with their marriage.

Both are left distressed by Cain’s actions and have to face up to their breakup, but there’s a bright spot for Moira when she gets the news she’s gotten the all clear following her brain tumour ordeal.

She’s soon brought back down to reality though when it comes time for her and Cain to share the sad news with Kyle and Isaac that they’re going their separate ways. But how will the kids take the news that their parents are separating?

Ruby actor Beth Cordingly previously made it clear there’s no chance of Cain pursuing a romance with Ruby, no matter how Moira or Caleb reacted to the news.

“[The one-night stand] was two people pressing the self-destruct button, who both just happened to be there, and they probably regretted it as it was happening,” she told Inside Soap in December.
