Ahead Of Yellowstone’S Finale, Stars Promise A ‘Great Ride For Our Fans’ – Breaking News Updates

If Sunday’s Season 5 finale of Yellowstone really does turn out to be the series’ swan song, viewers will be happy with the way Taylor Sheridan’s Paramount Network hit rides off into the sunset — at least according to the cast.

The episode is “beautifully written,” Gil Birmingham (Rainwater) tells TVLine. “I guess I always say it’s not so much the destination as it is the journey. That’s what makes Taylor’s shows so dramatically compelling. It’s the ins and outs, the twists and turns that make it interesting.

“Once you’re to the destination, then whatever’s happened happened,” he continues. “But what was the experience emotionally, psychologically, spiritually speaking for the individuals involved in that? I think that’s why Yellowstone is such a great ride for our fans.”

Wes Bentley (Jamie) is as eager to get the audience’s reaction as the audience is to watch. “I can’t wait to see what the viewers think,” he says. “I’ve leaned heavily on viewers to understand their experience with the show, because it’s very different than my experience with the show.

“Playing the role, I couldn’t keep up with watching the show while we were shooting it,” he adds, “and eventually I decided I kind of like this, not knowing how I look on camera or how this is playing or what edit they used. I leaned into the depths of the character, and it seemed to be working, so I’ve been turning to the audience to [find out] how they feel about things. I’m excited to see how they’ll feel about how 5B wraps up.”

One way or the other, the general consensus among the cast is that Sunday’s episode (airing at 8/7c) is good — really good. As Luke Grimes (Kayce) previously told us, viewers “won’t feel like they’ve wasted their time for the past six years.”
