CORONATION Street has touched upon a forgotten storyline in the wake of a baby bombshell on the
cobbles.
Coronation Street’s latest episode saw Dee-Dee Bailey) Channique Sterling-Brown) left reeling as she
discovered she was pregnant, and it’s not welcome news.
Solicitor ex boyfriend Joel Deering (Calum Lill) was killed in September with viewers finally discovering who had murdered him last week.
In a recent episode’s flashback, Joel had bought up the time they had slept together despite Dee-Dee’s strong beliefs of abstaining from sex until after marriage.
In Monday night’s (18 November) episode on ITV, a troubled Dee-Dee reflected on the news and shared her fears with Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) that she’d always see Joel when raising his child.
During the chat, Sarah mentioned that she no longer sees Callum Logan when she looks at son Harry.
Harry Platt is the son of drug dealer Callum, who is also the father of Max Turner who he shared with ex Kylie.
Kylie is now married to Sarah’s brother David Platt, making Harry and Max half brothers as well as step cousins.
Writing on Reddit after the episode aired on ITV, one viewer wrote: “Sarah mentioning that Callum is Harry’s dad made me remember that him and Max are biological siblings and not just (step) cousins.
“Has this ever been properly acknowledged in the past as max clearly just seems him as a cousin.
“Max would obviously know that his cousin is technically his brother but i wonder if Harry knows/ understands?”
Another viewer replied: “No idea. But Max only said to tell Lilly he loves her. They’re clearly brought up as ‘cousins’ rather than sibs.”
Dee-Dee plays Joel at his own game
A third added: “Max knows he’s his brother. Not sure about Harry.
“But they’ve been raised as cousins, so have that relationship.
“Your brothers mother being your adoptive aunt’s son isn’t exactly a common situation in real life I guess lol.”
