Coronation Street has aired a shock threat for Chesney Brown as newcomer Mick Michaelis reveals his true nature.

In recent scenes, Gemma Winter-Brown was caught between a rock and a hard place when Mick blackmailed her to provide him with an alibi for Sean Tully’s attack. Mick took his revenge against Sean and beat him up after he exposed his son Brody as a bully.

A scared Gemma agreed to lie for Mick to protect her kids and Sean from the new neighbour.

In tonight’s scenes, Gemma opened up to Chesney about having messed up “big time” and how Mick terrified her, cornering her at the pub and insisting she’d stick to her story.

Later on, Mick and Lou met with Gemma and Chesney over some cans of beer.

Chesney was uncomfortable as Mick acted bossy with Gemma and Lou, but remained silent.

Once he was alone with Chesney, Mick said Gemma was a “feisty one”. For his part, Chesney tried and stuck up for his wife, saying she was a fantastic partner and mother.

Mick agreed, but said Gemma had a “bit of a mouth on her” and hinted at not liking her “attitude”.

“She’s been getting on the wrong side of me lately, mate,” Mick told a stunned Chesney.

“You wanna rein her in a bit. For everyone’s sake, yeah?”

What will Chesney and Gemma do to protect their family? And how far would Mick go?
