EastEnders has confirmed that Tommy Moon will make a new friend soon that Alfie won’t be keen on.

The BBC One soap recently revealed that Tommy, who has been violently acting out, has been feeling incredibly lonely. He even turned to an AI chatbot just to have someone to talk to, even if that someone isn’t actually a person.

In scenes set to air next week, Martin Fowler’s niece Vicki turns up on the Square for his funeral, with her boyfriend Ross and his son Joel in tow.

Joel introduces himself to Tommy and Avani Nandra-Hart (who will also spend time next week smoking weed with Lily Slater to distract herself from recent events), and the two lads seem to strike up a friendship.

Later on in the week, Tommy and Joel’s friendship will flourish, and Tommy decides to delete the AI chatbot. However, Alfie is concerned about Joel.

Going back many years, Alfie’s brother Spencer used to date Vicki. She got pregnant with his baby, but decided to have a termination.

Following Vicki and Spencer’s exits from Walford, they met up again in Australia and resumed their romantic relationship off-screen.

It’s clear they have since split up as Vicki is with a new man, but what exactly happened between the pair, and will Alfie be able to look past it for Tommy’s sake?
