After Kody Brown condemned his children on season 33 of Sister Wives, his daughter Mykelti Padron, whom he shares with ex Christine
Brown, spoke out against her dad.
Kody Brown is losing the support of most of his adult children, even the ones who previously stood by him.
This includes his and ex Christine Brownâs daughter Mykelti Padron, who shared how the currently-airing season 33 of Sister Wives has
changed her perspective.
âI think that if he took more accountability in any of his actions, his kidsâmaybe not all of them, but at least some of themâwould reach out,â Mykelti said during a fan Q&A shared on the Instagram account @withoutacrystalball Oct. 11. âInstead of blaming the children, or blaming how they feel about his relationship with his other wife or blaming the parents or blaming gossip or whatever, if he just said, âLook, I understand I did blank wrong. Iâm sorry. Can we talk about it?â I feel like that would go such a long way.â
The current season of Sister Wives has detailed the tense dynamic within the formerly plural family following Kodyâs breakups with Christine in 2021 and both Janelle Brown and Meri Brown in 2022, leaving him only married to Robyn Brown. And a major source of frustration has been over how Kody interacts with his 18 kidsâmany of whom he is now currently estranged.
Mykelti, who shares daughter Avalon 3, and twin sons Ace and Archer, both 22 months, with husband Tony Padron, noted that she has previously confronted her father about his comments regarding their family.
For example, she cited how Kody calling his and Janelleâs daughter Madison Brush a âgossipâ on the show led to a great deal of animosity.
âTheyâre purposefully leaving me out of their lives to punish me for a crime I did not commit,â Kody said during the Oct. 6 episode. âI am only guilty of not falling madly in love with their mothers. Well, Madison actually called Janelle saying, âDad said he didnât love you.ââ

Mykelti expressed her anger of Kodyâs comments.
âI can understand why everybodyâs frustrated,â she noted, âand why Maddie snapped because he threw Maddie under the bus hard.â
âNo matter what happens between myself and my kids, I would always sit outside that door, knock, apologize and ask and ask and ask and just continue to try to do whatever I could to make that relationship stronger,â Mykelti said, after Kody noted that he had no plans to âbegâ his children to forgive him amidst their fallout over the past few years. âI feel like thatâs what you do as a parent. Sometimes you just have to take the knife in the kidney, get over it, and apologize.â
She added that the way in which Kody speaks about his children as a whole on the TLC series is harmful.
TLC
âWhen he blanket statements like this, it hurts every single one of his kids,â she said. âHeâs had past episodes blanket statements, and it hurts me even though I know it wasnât about me.â
Though sheâs previously chosen to serve as what Kodyâs referred to as the familyâs âpeacemaker,â the 28-year-old is now pointing the finger at her dad for the familyâs drama.
âIf youâre the common denominator that people have problems with,â she said, âitâs probably not them. Itâs you.â
And Mykelti sees his continual remarks as only prolonging the estrangement.
âWhen you put things out there on the show like this, thereâs no taking it back,â she said. âWhen he puts things on the show like this, youâre screwed. Maddie has seen this episode now. Maddieâs pissed. That door is slammed, locked, and it will be slammed forever unless he makes a statement on the show and condemns what he said.â
