Coronation Street has kicked off a new mystery for Debbie Webster who disappeared as part of her ongoing dementia storyline.
Only Carl is aware of the truth about Debbie’s diagnosis, but signs of Debbie’s memory loss have started to become more noticeable to those around her.
In today’s episode, Debbie told Ronnie and Leanne that she had to cancel the awards ceremony due to a flood at the hotel, but Leanne offered to host it at Speed Daal.
When Carl told Abi that they are meant to be together, he realised that Debbie was staring at them and she then suddenly collapsed.
After Debbie regained consciousness, Kevin and Abi told her to go to the hospital. Debbie told them that she already knows what’s wrong – she’s got dementia.

“It’s not the end of the world, not yet anyway,” she said. ” But I’m going to say this one more time, I’m not going to any hospital.”
Realising that Carl already knew the truth, Kevin and Ronnie became upset that Debbie didn’t confide in them. It then became apparent that Debbie couldn’t stand up so Abi took her to A&E.
Insisting that she wants to make her own decisions, Debbie said she didn’t like being treated like a child by Kevin and Carl, saying: “I’ve got a lot of decisions to make, I don’t want Kev or Carl weighing in, bossing me around.”
At the hospital, the doctor told Debbie she had suffered a TIA, which can be a precursor to a potential major stroke and she was warned to avoid driving for at least four weeks.

Kevin and Carl arrived to find that Debbie had left the hospital. In the car park, Debbie started her car and ignored calls on her phone.
The doctor’s warnings about driving panicked Kevin, Abi, and Carl who searched everywhere for Debbie but couldn’t find her.
We know Debbie will eventually make contact later next week, with Abi collecting her from the police station.
What will Debbie go through while she’s missing?
