Coronation Street star Sally Carman-Duttine has confirmed her future on the ITV soap, eight years after first joining.
The actor has been playing Abi Webster (previously Franklin) since 2017 and has been involved in many major storylines, including losing her son Seb, her trauma at witnessing the death of Mason Radcliffe, and her current affair with husband Kevin’s brother Carl.
And she’s intending to stay on Corrie for as long as the show’s bosses will allow her to.
“I see Corrie in my future and I’m hoping they do,” she told The Sun.
“Do you know what? If it was all to end tomorrow, I would literally be going out with the biggest thank-you, because I came in for six episodes and here I am.

“So there would be nothing but absolute gratitude. But let’s hope not just yet! I’m loving it and I’m just grateful for every day.”

The actor also said that fans tell her that they want Abi to stay with Kevin rather than end up with Carl, and she agrees.
“I feel the same!” she explained. “Abi loves Kevin, but Carl has awakened her feelings. She’s been desperately trying to fight it because she knows what she’s got to lose.

“In real life, Abi wouldn’t be a friend of mine. I do like her, I think she’s got great qualities – she’s got a huge heart – but she’s also a handful.
“And because she’s emotionally immature, she gets very defensive, very upset, very hurt. I wouldn’t want that in my life.”
